Yes! Zoro does not have Conqueror’s Haki, Why?

Zoro conqueror haki

Conqueror’s Haki, aka Haoshoku Haki, is a rare ability in One Piece world. According to the series, the chance of encountering an individual with Conqueror’s Haki is one-in-a-million. There are no more than ten characters possessing it. Luffy, Rayleigh, Whitebeard, Boa Hancock, Shanks, are the one who possesses it. There exists a debate among the fans that whether or not Zoro has Conqueror’s Haki.

Many One Piece fans believe that if the right-hand man of the Pirate King, Rayleigh can have Conqueror’s Haki, then the right-hand man of the future Pirate King, Zoro can certainly possess it. There are direct proofs. During the Fishman Island Arc, when Luffy knocked out 50,000 foes with Conqueror’s Haki, Zoro said that if he didn’t possess it, it would be time for Luffy to step down from being captain. Hence, many people believe that Zoro also possesses it. What’s more, in Punk Hazard Arc, Zoro was able to intimidate Monet to such an extent she was unable to move.

The fans would be disappointed. In the newest Vivre Card Databook, it is officially confirmed that Zoro does not have Conqueror’s Haki. In Zoro’s Vivre Card, it is stated that he possesses Armament Haki and Observation Haki. I hope that he would have it, but I am not amazed that he does not possess it.

Then why doesn’t Zoro have Conqueror’s Haki? As we all know, Zoro’s aspiration is to be the strongest swordsman, but not to be a king. He has never shown any signs of having Conqueror’s Haki. When Oda was asked about which Haki the monster trio specialised in, he said Luffy – Conqueror’s, Zoro – Armament, Sanji – Observation.

People may hold such an idea. Since Zoro, the second power of the Straw Hat Pirates does not have Conqueror’s Haki, it would be inferior for the Straw Hat Pirates comparing with the Roger Pirates. Yet I do not think so. After two years of rigorous training with Dracule Mihawk, Zoro has grown significantly more powerful than before. He has grown not only in swordsmanship, but also in the utilization of Armament Haki.

There exists an interesting theory that states that a demon lives in Zoro’s body. As we can see, after the two years time skip, his left eye has a scar and closes. How did he gain this scar? Is it possible that he has got a demon so that he has to close his eye to restraint the demon? Anyway, Zoro’s real power has not been shown. Maybe in Wano Country, we can see his real power.

Well, it has become a fact that Zoro does not have Conqueror’s Haki. While the debate on his real power may continue. What do you think about Zoro’s strength? Do you think Luffy is inferior to the former Pirate King, Gol D. Roger? Share your ideas in the comments below.

  1. If you are taking the databooks as finalized cannon then you must think that Sabo is a zombie, because he was officially listed as deceased before his reintroduction.

Oda isn’t going to spoil major plot events in the databooks. You should always take them with a hefty grain of salt

  2. During the Wano arc I’m pretty certain Zoro and Luffy have both been using conquerors Haki I’m not sure but I’m pretty sure.

  3. He has it we just have to wait remember when he intimidated urashima in wano we just need to wait and seewhen he fights someone strong in wano
